In order to stay with the 2020 theme, my bodies immune system decided to go crazy again one last time for the year. This time it is going after my colon and GI system...so bring on Colitis to the list of fun treatment side effects. š I won't go into any details (believe me it's TMI), but bottom line is I spent New Years Eve celebrating in my hospital room on a clear liquid diet ...which by the way, is another way to say YOU GET NOTHING!
A bunch of tests and blood work later they confirmed that it is definitely immunotherapy caused colitis and not anything else. So back on mega steroids and probably for a lot longer this time. But the good news is, I am home already! They let me go home today and transition to oral steroids vs. the IV steroids. At least that's what I think the plan is. I got so excited to see Jerome and Millie pull up to take me home that I jumped up quick and left all my paper work sitting in my chair. š So classic Lacey. They are sending everything to me via email, so crisis adverted though.
I am home. I had homemade chicken noodle soup delivered to my house for my first non-hospital meal (thank you Carolyn!). And 2020 is OVER...so I am going to choose to be happy tonight! Thank you for all the prayers and good vibes! I really appreciated every single one, and they kept me busy and distracted last night!
